Well! I’m back from Florida! It seems to be hotter back in Philadelphia than it was most days on our trip. So at least I’m not freezing now that I’m back. I may be going pretty far as to say this was one of my best vacations ever. But I really did learn a bit about myself. And so I’m going to share. Naturally!
I haven’t even begun to dig through pictures or anything like that yet, so don’t be expecting anything too wild.
1. After dinner hot drinks are actually quite nice.
I don’t know how I would deal with the caffeine if I weren’t staying up late. Which, granted, is probably pretty often. But it was just so nice to enjoy my dinner and then have a nice and relaxing cup of tea. That’s right. Tea! I’m moving up in the world.
2. There is not always a place for fast walking.
To be fair. Philadelphia is hard to survive without fast walking. I mean I guess you’ll survive just fine. You’ll just make the rest of the the city really angry. But one of our goals on our trip was to SLOW DOWN. And slow down we did. It was really hard to not be impatient, but I found when we didn’t have such a tight schedule it was MUCH easier. I suppose that’s a no brainer. We’ll see how that works out when a tight schedule is back into play.
3. Head’s Up is a great way to survive a line.
Seriously though, go download this app.
4. Unplugging is an AMAZING feeling.
I left my phone in the hotel room every single day. I didn’t tweet once. I didn’t go on Facebook for more than five minutes TOTAL. My Under Armour page is looking sad and neglected. I haven’t blogged since May 7th. And you know what? I feel pretty dang great. I’m disconnected from the news. And I needed it. I’m easing back in, that’s for sure. Hopefully I won’t get crazy again. We’ll see what happens!
5. I LOVE TENNIS.
Paul and I took one day off to chill around the resort. We played tennis and I absolutely loved it! He’s pretty amazing at it, I’m not going to lie. So I hope for him it was just as fun. But that’s something I would like to keep up with!
6. I need to travel again.
This was an amazing trip. I cannot stay in one place for as long as I did. Even if they’re little trips, I need to start traveling. Or at least pretend I’m traveling in Philadelphia. I would like money too, and so on that note. I’m off to work for 9 1/2 hours. Welcome back, am I right?
