Fall Survey

by Amanda on October 8, 2012

This seems appropriate today. It’s a tad bit nippy out there all of a sudden, and I’ve got a ginormous anatomy exam (really, all of them are huge) tomorrow, so that doesn’t allow for much insight to my blog today. I saw this on Brittany’s site (GotheXtraMile) and want to have fun too.

Philadelphia WeatherThis does not sound pleasant to me.

Apple Picking or Pumpkin Picking

I’ve never been apple picking before, so this one might be a little unfair. But Paul and I are all set to go to the pumpkin patch and I am SO SO excited. So I’m going to have to go with Pumpkins!

Favorite Apple Recipe

The one where I slice it up and bake it in the oven covered with cinnamon. I’ve never really attacked an apple recipe. This year, I’ve got it. And I’m sure you will all be second to hear it, only behind those eating it.

Favorite Pumpkin Recipe

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pumpkin roll. More than I care to admit. So I’m looking for a good recipe for that currently. I think Paul and I are pretty much masters at Pumpkin Mac and Cheese though. Don’t knock it until you try it, now.

Pumpkin Mac & CheeseMy food photography astounds me. This is a year old though.

Favorite Soup Recipe

My favorite soup is French Onion. That goes and ruins the whole Fall appeal of this survey, now doesn’t it?

Football: On TV or in the stadium?

I would say in the stadium as long as it isn’t too miserable outside and as long as there’s a good cheering section near you. There’s nothing like being at a football game where the fans suck. But TV is a nice alternative if need be.

Temple FootballNow that’s a good cheering section.

Favorite Football Team to cheer for?

Well. Clearly I’m a Temple fan. And I’m a Philly girl and have to go with the Eagles. Too bad both teams cause me heartache and aneurisms.

Daylight Savings Time: Love it or hate it?

Dude, I will get an extra hour of sleep wherever I can.

How do your workouts change during the Fall months?

Running is way less miserable. It’s nice that I don’t have to wait until 10 at night for the heat to break and I also don’t have to get up at 4 am to avoid it. I like being able to run at whatever time I please! I like to do a lot of stuff outside during the Fall, so there’s a lot of built in workouts too! Also dance has started up again, so that takes up 98% of my time.

Any fashion essentials for Fall weather?

I do enjoy a good scarf, I cannot tell a lie.

ScarfMy #makeupfreemonday last week!

Do your meals change when the weather changes?

They try to get heartier. But I also get busier, so that takes a bit of a toll on them. Have you heard of my new friend the spaghetti squash?

Spaghetti SquashI think this might be the third time I’ve recycled this picture.

Favorite Fall Dessert

PIE. GET IT DONE. Warm, delicious, gooey pie.

Best thing about Fall?

The feeling it gives me. People always say Springtime is the time when everybody is in love, but that beautiful time between summer and winter is full of smiles for me. Stress too, but mostly smiles.

ALSO I am a huge fan of Halloween. And the start of the holiday season in general. It runs from Paul’s birthday (October 29th) to my birthday (February 19th)!

Worst thing about Fall?

Sometimes it thinks it is okay to pretend to be winter. TAKE YOUR TIME, Mother Nature.

Also. Starbucks tends to start stealing all of my paychecks right about now.

Pumpkin Spice Latte

Yes, this was back in the days of Tall Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

Best thing that will happen in Fall 2012?

I don’t know!! Check with me when it is over. :)

What do you like about Fall? Or dislike. But tread lightly if you’re going to tell me you dislike Fall! ;)

I loved this “quick hit” post format! I am also intrigued by pumpkin mac and cheese. Anything w/ pumpkin is pretty much golden by me, so I’m game to try it.

We just went to a farm last weekend for pumpkin and apple picking–we are overflowing with golden delicious apples! Fall is great, as long as it isn’t as cold as today, which feels more like winter, am I right?

My team played your team in football this weekend (and your team kicked my team’s A!) I am a USF alum, and I big fan of all things USF. No hate though, clearly the better team won :-)

I LOVE fall, and winter even more actually. BUT I live in Florida, and any day where it is cooler than 60 degrees is a good day in my book. I’d have to say my favorite thing(s) about fall are: cooler temps and humidity (eventually), and anything pumpkin. I love even just looking at pumpkins.

So much fun! might be stealing this. I gotta say I love the idea of fall, but as soon as the temperatures dip below 70 (like today) I am miserable and complain until spring hits. I’ve got a ton of apple recipes up right now, you should give um a go!

Have a blast at the pumpkin patch!

I love to watch the leaves change, and I love football! Sadly, in Florida, it doesn’t much feel or look like fall.
